I started my broadcasting career in 1989 at a small 1,000 watt AM station, WLOJ in Eastern North Carolina, playing Southern Gospel music. Just a few months later I was working overnights at WIKS-FM, an Urban Contemporary station and market leader. After a few years and trying several radio formats, I decided to try television starting out in Master Control and moving up to Newsroom Operations. Then an old co-worker called me to tell me about a job opportunity with the American Forces Network, Kwajalein Atoll. That was an offer that I couldn’t refuse and almost overnight I moved from Eastern North Carolina to the other side of the world. While on Kwajalein I worked both the television and radio side. I did video production, hosted the Sunday Morning Jazz Show and co-hosted the daily Morning Show. After leaving Kwajalein in 2005, I made Kauai my home. In 2006 I was hired by the KONG Radio Group, working on sister station KQNG-FM weekends and later moved up to Program Director of KUAI AM 570. Mahalo nui loa, for listening to AM570 Kauai’s Country.
